St. Agnes Student

Mathcounts is a national competition designed to encourage achievement in middle school mathematics. Its founders include the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the National Society of Professional Engineers.

At St. Agnes, 7th and 8th grade students meet weekly for four months, beginning in the fall, to prepare for the regional competition. Students compete individually and as part of a team in various timed rounds that require mathematical reasoning and problem-solving processes. If you enjoy math and working out the answers to problems, Mathcounts is worth a look.
